If you've checked our leaderboard, you know it ranks cappers by performance. But what does "performance" actually mean?

It's not as simple as "who has the most wins." And honestly, it shouldn't be.

Win Rate Is Table Stakes

Obviously win rate matters. But a capper who's 3-0 with three picks isn't necessarily better than someone who's 25-15 with forty picks. Sample size has to count for something.

That's why our rankings factor in both win rate and pick volume. You need a minimum number of settled picks before you even show up on the leaderboard. This filters out the people who posted one lucky pick and disappeared.

The Tier System

Cappers on PickSignal get placed into tiers based on sustained performance. It's not just about one good week — you need to maintain your numbers over time. The tier updates regularly, so a hot streak that cools off gets reflected in your ranking.

This is intentional. We wanted the leaderboard to reward consistency, not just recency. The cappers at the top have earned it through sustained track records, not a single viral pick.

What the Best Cappers Look Like

Right now, the top of our leaderboard is dominated by NBA and NHL specialists. These cappers typically post 2-4 picks per week, focus almost exclusively on spreads and totals, and have been active for at least a month.

None of them are posting daily 10-leg parlays. None of them are chasing props. The winning formula on PickSignal looks a lot like the winning formula everywhere else in handicapping: discipline, specialization, patience.
