January Recap: 500 Picks In, Here's Where We Stand

January is in the books. Let's talk about it honestly.

The platform tracked over 500 picks across the month. That's more than any previous month and the growth in capper signups has been steady. More data is always better for identifying real trends.

The Overall Numbers

Win rate for January came in just under 49%. Before anyone panics β€” this is roughly what you'd expect from a large, unfiltered sample. We track every pick, not just the ones that look good. No cherry-picking, no deleting losers. That's the whole point of verified tracking.

NBA was the dominant league by volume, making up about 45% of all picks. NHL, NFL, and EPL filled out the rest. The NFL playoff run generated a spike in picks mid-month, but the results were mixed.

Standout Cappers

A few cappers really separated themselves in January. Without naming specific records (you can check the leaderboard yourself), the pattern was consistent: the top performers were highly selective, focused on one league, and mostly stuck to spreads and totals.

One thing we noticed: cappers who joined in January and immediately started posting 10+ picks had worse results than those who started slow with 2-3 picks. There might be a "calibration period" where new cappers need to figure out the platform and their own process.

Looking Ahead to February

The NBA All-Star break will slow things down mid-month for basketball picks. NHL is hitting its stride. And March Madness is just around the corner β€” we're expecting a big spike in both capper signups and pick volume when the tournament bracket drops.

If you're thinking about joining, now is actually a solid time. Get your track record started before the March rush so you have some history to show when the tournament crowds arrive.
