Three Prediction Trends We're Watching Right Now

Three things stood out this time.

1. NBA Scoring Pace Just Shifted

Post-All-Star break basketball is a different animal. Teams that were coasting are now pushing the pace. Others are resting guys for the playoffs. The result? Totals that were set based on pre-break tendencies are off by 5-8 points in some cases.

Our data shows overs hitting at about 56% since the break. That's a significant edge if you're quick enough to catch it before the books adjust. The window is probably two more weeks at most.

2. NHL Unders Keep Printing

This has been a quiet theme all season, but it's getting more pronounced. NHL unders on the platform are hitting at nearly 55%. Why? Goaltending has been elite across the league this year, and the playoff push means teams are tightening up defensively.

The cappers who noticed this early have had an excellent season. If you're looking for a systematic edge with some data behind it, this is one of the cleaner ones we've seen.

3. EPL Value Is Hiding in Plain Sight

English Premier League picks don't get huge volume on our platform — NBA dominates. But the cappers who do focus on EPL are quietly putting up strong numbers. Win rates in EPL picks are running about 3 percentage points above our platform average.

Part of this is probably selection bias — the people posting EPL picks tend to really know the league. But there might also be genuine value in a market that gets less attention from casual handicappers. Worth watching.

The Meta-Trend

Beyond specific leagues, the bigger pattern is this: the sports prediction landscape is getting smarter. The cappers who are winning aren't relying on gut feels or "insider info." They're tracking data, noticing patterns, and being disciplined about it.
